Joey Fillingane was born and raised in South Mississippi where he has also served in the Mississippi Legislature for the past twenty years. Joey has a large extended family (he is one of five siblings) and loves family time with all of his siblings, parents, nieces and nephews. Joey practices civil law in Mississippi when he is not in Jackson at the State Capitol conducting legislative business on behalf of his constituents in the Mississippi State Senate.

Joey loves to exercise including jogging and tennis. Joey enjoys teaching his young adult Sunday School class at the Southern Baptist Church that he attends regularly. Joey is an avid reader, enjoying a variety of written works on the subjects of politics, espionage, current events, World War II and the American Presidency. Joey hopes to continue writing The Kingdom series for the next few years and is developing a few other works on modern day young adult fiction as well. Joey enjoys attending concerts and sporting events and traveling extensively in Europe and Asia.
